All information on the current country can be found here:
PLAYERS INVOLVED: Fyfergrund, Mikki Corvid
SETTING: Ryukun Mountains, Northwest of Rynorel Forest
WEATHER: Partly cloudy, with a gentle summer breeze blowing.
TIME: Two days ahead of Current, Sun is beginning to set.
CHARACTERS INVOLVED: Nirahx (Fyfer) Manan (Mik)
Nirahx lay sprawled on the side of a mountain where he had fallen, looking for all the world like the long-dead bones of an ancient dragon. After having been awakened near Rynorel Forest and taking part in the battle against the Faction, albeit merely because they had attacked him, he had taken flight towards the mountains. But under the light of the sun, the meager amount of energy he'd been given by the one who roused him from his long hibernation had run out, leaving him to once more succumb to unconsciousness, and plummet.
By the time his bones hit the mountainside, he was completely unaware, and his body, held together by the last vestiges of his reiatsu, tumbled down the rocky slope to lay sprawled after it came to rest.
The waning light of his reiatsu faded under the light of the sun, and his bones, no longer held together, shifted as they surrendered to gravity.
Now, however, as the sun slowly surrendered the sky to the moons, their pale light shone down upon his bones, gently infusing them with energy. Slowly at first, his reiatsu began to strengthen, spreading over him with increasing speed, surrounding his bones with glowing, pale blue, ghostly flames which gleamed like a beacon in the fading light. His bones, disconnected during the day, began to reassemble themselves, drawn together by his returning power.
Manan continued her path through the copse of trees she'd entered some hours ago. It seemed to have been opening into a larger whole of a forest, though she was still curious enough to continue forward. Which was just as well, she had no duties or obligations. At least not any she could remember, not anything from before her injury. Every now and then her head still pounded, as if new. After several hours it usually abated, though it was tiresome to have the pain appear and disappear with no warnings.
Manan's rosey hued scales glittered in the setting sun, the red and purple hues making her look brighter than normal. She had smelled water nearby and despite her lack of appetite, she was quite thirsty. And so on she went, walking through the trees, wings clasped tightly to her back. As if the tension and stress from her lost memory kept her in constant anxiety. It aggravated her, seeing faces she was sure she knew, and having no explanation for them on how she knew them or why she liked them. It wasn't something she liked being reminded of either.
So she'd left. To build new memories, to take up some other cause, and hopefully she would regain what she had lost. The drake that had found he said she looked as if she'd been fighting. But it was unsure of with who or why she had been. Only that someone must have come by or through, and had been met with her ferocity at the danger they presented.
Manan watched as the last rays from the sun slipped below the horizon, putting the rest of the woods in a cloak of darkness. She blinked as her eyes adjusted to the change and dipped her draconian head to help her eyes adjust. Once comfortable she continued her trek, walking just a smidge more slowly than before. A little more weary. She probably should have stopped for the night, but the prospect of a cool drink had kept her moving.
As the ancient bones continued to rejoin themselves, Nirahx's limbs twitched, and claws grasped reflexively as he slowly began to awaken. One long, bony forelimb, joined back together, braced against the ground, and began to lever the rest of his body up from the ground, then the other forelimb straightened with click of bones.
The rest of his body quickly followed as his power returned, and he raised his head to gaze at the moons overhead, a melancholy cast to his long-dead features. Long, tattered wings spread, gleaming reiatsu flowing over them and illuminating his surroundings, raised up like tattered flags, visible above the forest as he rose up on his hind legs to stretch his body and allow his bones to fully settle into their proper positions.
For a few moments, he remained where he was, unmoving, casting an ethereal light upon his surroundings, before, very slowly, his head began to lower as his eyes began to seek out the living presence he sensed nearby. His gaze swept side to side until, at last, e caught sight of movement down in the valley before him.
His bony form lurched forward as he made his way down the mountainside, then into the forest before him, causing some of the branches to snap and crash down to the ground at his passage, his unfeeling body giving him no sign he was brushing against anything at all.
Manan crept slowly through, the falling darkness causing her a bit more trouble in finding her way than she intended. She paused for a moment. Listening. And thinking nothing of the sound she thought she had heard, she continued on. Slowly picking her way through the dimly lit forest around her. She tucked her wings in tight, trying not to rustle the trees and bushes as much. Trying for the life of her to be quiet. She wasn’t in the mood to fight right this second. She could IF she absolutely had to but it wasn’t her intention to have to.
Honestly she truly only wanted to reach some place to settle down and grab a few mawfuls of water. She could almost smell the dampness of earth. And so she continued, her nose leading her way until she found a creek slicing its way through the ground. She sighed happily, and nestled up close to the edge of the water. She took great mawfuls of water, filling her stomach with the cold water. It was refreshing, and she couldn’t help herself but slip into the creek as best she could, dunking her head and wings in the water to shake and splatter the liquid about in a vast array.
Manan’s rosey colored scales shimmered darkly in the water as it rushed past her, taking with it whatever dust and grime she’d picked up from her travelling. She dunked her head again, before resurfacing and shaking the water off. “This…is nice…” she hissed slowly, she swam up to the edge and settled her head onto the ground and closed her eyes for a moment. Enjoying the quiet early night.
She heard the crashing of trees, and the distinct flap of wings, and a landing? She turned her head and looked in the direction of the noise. She huddled close to the edge of the shore, trying to make herself small until she could determine if it was something that would try to eat her or not.
As the Faction returns to Felnova, sightings of snakekind have increased. There is a snakekind - or group of snakekind - heading right for your characters!
The snakekind can be of any type and in any number; they may or may not have mind-bound children slaves with them. It's up to you!
