snowbound igloo queen
Species: Eastern Celestial
On the larger side for dragons, Yasmin stands at fifteen feet in height, with her long, flowing body a stunning thirty four in length. She has an wolflike look to her; though her belly is reinforced from chin to tail in tough, plated grey scales, most of her body is covered in a thick pelt of white fur, with a mane of dark blue running along the length of her spine. Branching antlers not unlike those of a deer spring from reinforced bone around her ears, and are iridescent as pearls. Her claws and teeth share the same odd shimmer, and sensitive tendrils several feet in length drape from her snout, always coiling and uncoiling in the air.
Though at first glance she may not differ all that much from her Eastern brethren, Yasmin's Celestial qualities manifest themselves all too soon. For one, she is utterly unbothered by the cold, remaining pleasantly warm to the touch even after submerging herself in freezing water. Her irises are faceted like diamonds; when the light of the sun scatters off the snow, gazing directly into her face can sometimes be too great a challenge. Despite her size, Yasmin also appears to weigh virtually nothing, rarely leaving tracks in the snow, though she can carry several passengers or their equivalent. The dragoness has a voice like crystal bells and often enjoys weaving in and out of the ribbons of light that manifest in northern skies, sometimes causing a sheet of color to brighten when she pierces it.
As a Celestial, Yasmin wields great power over the light element, but, unlike many talented in the area, she is not a healer. Instead, Yasmin specializes in "the splitting of the light," a phenomenon that allows her to see outside the visible spectrum. This grants her the neat ability of seeing heat, seeing in the dark, and seeing through certain materials (within reason - light absorption limits her ability to peer into reinforced areas). In addition to sharpening her own vision, she is able to, where light is available, create "bursts" of it that temporarily blind an unwary opponent. In the event of dark creatures, this blinding can be permanent.
The theme of vision continues into Yasmin's second Celestial gift, that of the Sight. Though rare and typically inconvenient, the dragoness can, at times, be granted a glimpse of the future. This gift manifests as an attack of catatonia, as Yasmin lives out the scene in her head and becomes incapable of interacting with and, indeed, completely unaware of the world around her. The Sight is the only thing that overwhelms even the bond of dragon and rider; when undergoing a vision, Yasmin is cut off from Bathsheba, with no recourse but to wait.
Physically, Yasmin has any of the typical tooth and claw options available to her kind, though she is curiously lacking in strength; while she can easily overpower a human or elf, a fellow dragon of even mediocre build poses a significant challenge to her, even though her natural grace and lightness make her quicker by far.
