Lusin Loved this place. The mountains created beautiful updrafts, making flight almost effortless for the four-winged wyvern. She roared, twisting and turning in the air as she eventually leveled out to glance at her passengers.

Diell has a look of pure euphoria upon his face. Seeing, and hearing, his dragon so happy made him mimic her joy. But he had to admit, the lands of Xaeri were as beautiful as they were wild. He had managed to steal the vampire boy, and promised to take him somewhere new. Well, the wild land of Zinofl was definitely new to the child.

"Lusin! Take us down!" He glanced at a cliff, with enough room for the humanoids to stand without having to struggle. The Wyvern-class dove, landing with swift skill. Diell dismounted, and turned to examine her. Stunning white so pure one could be blinded by looking upon her. Four wings, with star-like grey marks on their underside, And her angled head. Bright blue eyes, and a crown of grey spines, as she breathed in the thin, yet clear air of the mountains.

Diell smiled, leaning against a wall. "So, how do you like it, Rhexic?" He asked, a spark in his hazel eyes. The star-light shimmered above, making the man's black hair stand stark against his pale face, and silvered band that kept the mostly wild hair out of his face. Wearing his usual all-black get-up, marred only by his sword and arm-guard, he looked calm, relaxed.

Lusin nuzzled her rider gently, her breath nearly gone. "Why didn't we come back sooner, Di?" She asked, a playful glint in her eyes. her rider shook his head, chuckling.

Reunan had sped ahead, stretching her wings and keeping an eye out for anything that might interest her. Then off to the far right, she saw a flash of white, her great golden eyes narrowed to points as she homed in on the movement.

A Wyrven!! Oh what fun, what joy! Wyverns were always so much fun to tease and taunt...

With a scree of joy Reunan turned on her wingtip and streaked across the sky towards the unknowing group.

Rochlan who had been lazily flying lower while looking out for some easy lunch heard the joy-filled war cry of his pair-bond and turned his head just in time to see her turn and start towards a Wyrven and a surrounding group of humanoids. With a sigh, he turned and stretched out his wings flying hard to overtake his overly exuberant bond.

The wind rushed past her ears as he aimed for the edge of the cliff, the anticipation of the screams thrilling her. A smile curved along her beak as she folded her wings and dived, The figures on the cliff had finally noticed her and she could hear the notes of panic. Her feet came forward, braced for landing.

Rochlan flew low and hard, Reunan was the faster flier and it was taking everything he had to try and keep up. But thankfully over short distances his larger size help avoid the worst situations. With a quick catching of a thermal he rose up from under her and knocked her from her dive and landed just were her talons had touched the cliff edge.

Exhaling as his beloved cursed below him, Rochlan turned to the started group and smile the best he could, " Greetings! I have to apologise for my pair-bond, she has an odd sense of fun."

This certainly wasn't the first time he'd gotten the chance to perch upon Lusin's back, and Rhexic really hoped it wouldn't be the last. Flying was an incredible sensation that needed to be savoured at every given chance and the youth took such chances very seriously when they did indeed come. Perched just in front of Diell on the beautiful Wyvern's back, his very heart fluttered in joy as they coasted freely through the sky. For some reason, this felt like the very best of her aerial-prowess, easily showing off what the finesse of a winged lizard could do without the need for words.

He was glad he was able to venture out of the castle once again. Such opportunities to stretch his legs didn't come around very often - not that he didn't prefer to relax on most days. But it had been awhile since his last meal, which made that more than ample reason to venture out into the night with the dragon and her rider. And when he was given the chance... Well, how could he say no to a free ride?

The night sky was perfect - black as pitch and all-consuming in it's entirety. Rhexic made a note mental note to thank the both of them once again, even if he was only being allowed to tag along under the guise of training or whatever. The fact that he was able to become one with such a blanket of darkness made up for all kinds of ill the young had been made to bear thus far and it would continue to do so for as long as he remained. It was just that joyous to him.

Unfortunately their fun was soon brought to an abrupt end by something in the distance. Another dragon? Some sort of avian? He couldn't be sure from such a distance, but he wasn't given much of a chance to make out what the shape was when Diell ordered them into a descent. Keeping his attention on their dive, the young vampire briefly listed off all the creature he knew who might wish to openly cross paths with a dragon - unfortunately, that list was almost non-existent.

Hopping off the dragon, the youth rushed to the edge of their landing space and peered off into the distance with a deep frown marring his gleaming yellow eyes. His shortened purple locks rustling carelessly in the wind as he watched two unknown creatures collide within the air - one besting the other within a hair's breath.

Diell's question largely went unnoticed in favour of this newfound phenomenon and the youth didn't so much as spare him a glance. "The fun isn't over yet, y'know." Almost as if on cue, the new beast rose up and perched itself at the edge of their landing, prompting the boy to back up a couple of paces in favour of keeping his personal space invaded. Though he wondered how long that would last.

At the creature's words (a creature he'd never gotten to see for himself), the boy merely narrowed his eyes and pressed his lips together in in a thin line. "Friends of yours, Lusin?" He certainly didn't recognise either of them, so what gives? Why show up so suddenly in such a place? Rhexic didn't like it at all.

A myriad of colors shifted across the luminarian's tail-tuft as Rhannoc decorated the side of a protruding rock upon the side of a mountain. For one moment brilliant white, then deep purple the next, the conjured paint was never quite the same shade as the mad artist went about his work, gleaming eyes focused intently upon the sky and boulder. He'd been hard at work on this mural long before the sun had set, so it featured the passage of the entire day. On one side, the sun dominated the daylight sky, and in the middle it surrendered the sky to night's cool grasp.

He was intently focused on the night side, adorning stars upon a dark background, along with various other embellishments he decided to add into the work. He stopped painting briefly to glower at the dragon who suddenly flew overhead, interrupting his view, tail poised mid-stroke as his glower faded, immediately replaced by intense regard. The paint on his tail-tip took on a different shade, and he gazed back at the boulder as he added a white and grey dragoness to the mural.

Then, just as swiftly, his mood changed again, and he hissed in agitation as a pair of roc'a flew by overhead, the lead one screeching loudly as it dove towards where the white wyvern had landed. His eyes narrowed, and he abruptly faded from sight as a surge of paranoia overtook him. Why were there so many creatures out here all at once? Silently, the circadian lifted off the ground, and drifted through the air towards the small gathering.

he circled around overhead, eyeing the wyvern, roc'a, and humanoids, noting their natural colors compared to their surroundings. His mood took a darkly creative turn as the ferocity in the female roc and the thirst for blood he sensed around one of the humanoids reached him, and, still invisible, he drifted lower in curiosity.

"Hints of blood stir the air, but when will it fall?" he whispered to himself as he drifted, unseen, above the gathering.

Diell's eyes widened as he saw the two Roc'a, and he reached out to pull Rhexic back... but it was too late, and the male had landed. Lusin growled behind him, moving to stand intimidatingly behind her rider, second set of wings spread wide.

But the elf noticed that the giant bird was... being rather civil. "Rhexic, get over here. Now." His voice was stern, fatherly, and completely serious. He stepped away from his dragon's protective stance, motioning the vampire to go to the white.

"Sir, I would agree, her sense of humor is... eclectic." He spoke slowly, as if fearing to anger the creature. A pale hand sat on his sword, and he hummed slightly, hazel eyes gazing over his feathers.

Meanwhile, the Dragoness felt someone watching her. She swung her head around, then sighed, focusing on the predator in front of her.

"She means no harm...." Rochlan started to explain when Reunan suddenly swept up beside him,

"You are no fun!" She said as she turned to preen a burnt umber feather into place, the gold edging catching in the moonlight.

Rochlan caught the eye of Deill and carefully rolled his eyes, "You, like most of your uncivilized Clan lack some basic social skill beloved."

"Says the Roc who tried to steal my elephant." She replied giving Rochlan a nip from her great beak.

"Phffft" Rochlan replied as he gave her a strong knock with a wing, His purplish grey wings, electric blue shimmering along the tips here and there.

Turning to Deill Rochlan bobbed his head and said, "You must think us the worst kind of barbarians, We are just un-used to people who don't flee... I am Rochlan and this is my Pair-bond Reunan.'

Reunan bobbed her head as well before asking,

"As you flew in, did you notice some nit has been painting the cliff face..." she turned to look down at the edge of the painted section.

The child frowned as Diell ordered -nay, commanded- him to step away from the huge bird. He couldn't help but to snort in derision. His parents handing responsibility for his safety over to the Drow might have been a good idea in hindsight, but it was beginning to seem like some sort of excuse to behave cowardly. Weren't they supposed to be training or something right about now? Or better yet, letting Rhexic feed on something. As his eyes gave the bird a brief-once over, he briefly wondered if he could take it on alone. Or at least grab a quick bite to sustain himself for the remainder of the night.

Well, that thought sorta went out the window the moment another took it place at their side... While one on it's own might have seemed possible - two was simply pushing it. Or maybe he'd get a chance later on? Whatever. In any case, heeding the elf's order did seem to be the best bet for now. Turning away from the two birds, the youth begrudgingly found himself pacing back to Lusin's side. He'd let Diell handle this his way, for now. But he was much more interested in Lusin's take on the matter. "Whatever you say, man."

Attempting to settle himself upon the Wyvern's back, the youth laid himself down with his eyes focused skyward - his ears focused on picking up every single sound either bird would make. Diell might have been afraid of them, and he supposed their size was something to be cautious around, but they were certainly not anything special. They were birds for Time's sake. Since when were birds -of all things- a reason to order a vampire to back down?

It was easy enough to understand exactly why Rhexic wouldn't nearly be as cautious as his companions were. He was at the very top of the food chain where there was no other like him. Anything that had opted to take him on in the past had fallen without question - there was no equal, 'if's or 'but's to it. And should either of the large winged creatures try anything funny, he'd show them exactly what that meant, no questions asked. If anything, it was because Diell and Lusin were here that he held himself back. He didn't want to upset either of them, afterall.

Though at the insult casually tossed into the air - the boy narrowed his eyes and slowly turned to gaze steadily at the one who'd dared speak it. Maybe he wouldn't need to wait too much longer to get rid of them himself. "Did you just say 'uncivilized'?" Coming from a bird, that was quite the remark to make, considering how their ilk typically society normally operated. He wasn't well-vested in the details but their kind wasn't known for their intelligence or their craftsmanship like the Drow Elves were. So then...

If he had a tail like Lusin, it'd be lashing from side to side in irritation. But for the most part the boy appeared cool and unperturbed in their presence. A funny smell suddenly filtered into his sharp sense of smell and the youth turned his eyes skyward around the same time the white-scaled dragon did. It certainly wasn't the kind of smell that could be considered normal, and yet there was nothing to be seen... "Lusin? Can you... smell that?" He whispered tentatively to the dragon, unsure if she was even on the same wavelength as him on what needed their attention.

Still unseen, the madcap luminarian twisted around until he was effectively hanging upside down, rolling around in a spiraling twist as if in the center of a whirling vortex, taking in the whole gathering, almost feeding off the tension as the dragon, vampire, and drow faced the pair of roc'a. He sensed the vampire's lack of caution in regards to the pair of great birds, but, though he'd never tangled with the creatures before, he knew the vampire's strength would be no match for the roc'a's might.

His regard shifted to the vampire and the dragon as they seemed to have sensed his presence. In the grip of sudden paranoia, his tail lashed around, and in the air above the group, a great, black image of a roc appeared in seconds, painted upon the very air itself as though it were a canvas. Should the gathered group prove to be a threat, he would not be undefended.

"What do you smell?" he whispered in the vampire's ear, still unseen, though he drifted close enough to be within arm's reach for a brief moment.

Diell made a sigh of relief, they didn't seem to want to attack. "It's nice to meet you, Rochlan, and you as well, Reunan. I am Diell, This is my dragon, Lusin, and our friend, Rhexic." He said, bowing slightly with a smile.

Meanwhile, the white had indeed smelled 'that', whatever it was. She shook her head to try and clear it, watching as her rider relaxed, and figured it was ok for her to do so too. But then she heard talking, and she tensed again, going on edge. She hadn't heard words, though.

Diell glanced back at his bonded, and frowned a moment. She seemed uneasy. but she shook her head, and motioned for him to talk to the giant bird predators. "You know, I had, it was odd, but I didn't quite question it." He replied easily.

"You know, I had, it was odd, but I didn't quite question it." He replied easily.

Rochlan eyed the nervous dragon, sensing that he and Reunan where no longer the source of the tenseness in Lusin. Keeping a calm expression on his face his keen eye subtly scanning the cliffside as Reunan answered Diell,

"It truly seems as though a mad-man painted it, the scene is like nothing we have ever seen in any of the Realms."

Now that he was looking, paying attention, Rochlan was sure that he could sense if not see another presence on the cliff, subtly he shifted closer to Reunan, catching her attention with a double tap of a talon on the cliff before quickly carving the words "watcher" into the stone.

Taking in the word and the meaning, Reunan didn't miss a beat as she scratched it out as she shifted away from Rochlan, clearing herself space to easily take off from, trusting Rochlan to be her eyes so kept her focus on Diell and the issue of warning him even though she could feel the thrill of battle already coursing through her body.

"I have to wonder in the person responsible is still around?" She asked, keeping the tension and battle joy from her voice.

It was enough that they were in an unfamiliar place, faced against unfamiliar beings under unfamiliar circumstances, but that smell alone was more than enough to keep the young blood-sucker on high alert. It was because of nights like these that he didn't typically like to leave his home - too many complications and factors to consider just for filling his stomach for a couple of days. And yeah, there was the fact that he was out with friends and was getting to ride Lusin that more than made up for that, but were the rest of these such surprises really worth the hassle?

Not likely. The boy scowled when it became clear that he was being ignored by both overgrown birds, but he didn't let it deter him. In fact, if Diell wanted to go about making more friends - more power to him. Rhexic just wasn't that kind of vampire, and it was clearly within the young elf's nature to do so. An impressive trait indeed, but not quite one Rhexic was particularly interested in or jealous of. At the mention of his name and being introduced, the purple-haired youth merely allowed his eyes to flicker back to the trio by the edge of the area, only to turn his eyes to the sky once again.

What he saw then would have made his blood run cold within his very body, were he a mere mortal. A Roc had appeared within the sky that seemed... off in some way. He couldn't place it. Yet to see it suddenly appear with no warning of its prescence being made beforehand once more put the youth on edge. "Are you kidding me? What's with all the birds!?" Would throwing something yield him more favourable results? He wasn't sure, yet was near tempted to find out. However, a voice to his ear forced him to change his focus yet again.

"What the-" Jumping off the dragon's back and a short distance off to the side, he stared at the spot he'd been, allowing his eyes to flicker back and forth along Lusin's form as if to check her for scales for dirt. It hadn't been a mere ghosting pf the wind - he'd legitimately heard the voice of another being for a moment. Had it been the newcomer which had taking its place above the group that continued to watch them so eerily? Or was it something else? Something more than what could be comprehended by his eyes and ears alone? "But that's not possible..."

If nothing in this realm (or any other, for that matter) could compare to his might, surely such an occurrence couldn't hope to exist. Surely. Turning his now ferocious yellow eyes onto the image in the sky, the youth beckoned; "Is that your doing? What's the big idea?"

Still unseen, Rhannoc's eyes narrowed, and he drifted back from the vampire a ways, and his tail flicked back and forth. He gazed up at the painted roc he'd created in the air. It hung, flat as if it were on canvas instead of the very air, above the group, apparently unnoticed by all except the vampire. A glance at the others put him a bit further on edge as it seemed the silver dragon suspected his presence as well.

The roc'a, engrossed as they were with his cliffside art, seemed still unaware of his presence. At least, he thought so until one of them carved the word 'watcher' into the stone. He drifted past the two birds, and stared at the word for a moment. Then, swiftly, he painted a staring blue-green eye above the word, nodding once in satisfaction before drifting back towards the vampire, and circling around him.

"Perhaps you're right," he whispered from right behind the vampire's head before racing over his head, close enough for his furry tail-tip to ruffle the vampire's hair if he didn't move. Again, he used his tail-tip to paint, this time using various shades of red, yellow, and orange to create a sinuous, stylized monster made of pure flames, seemingly dancing to a silent tune, locked in place with a euphoric expression on its face.

"Is that more to your liking?" he asked, more loudly this time, loud enough to be heard by the entire group. Then, a bit more softly, he added, "I wonder if you'd look better in red...Rhexic."

Diell looked completely and utterly unaware of the goings on. But if one looked at his eyes, he was looking everywhere, and seemed to blink only occasionally. His expression was thoughtful. "Well, odd as it is, it is quite pretty." He said softly, pretending to ignore the gimmicks of whatever was painting. It seemed to not have any harm meant... until he heard the creature speak, clear as day. The male turned, to look at the painted creature. "Actually, I like it. Well painted." He spoke, smiling faintly. He didn't seemed alarmed, or confused, though he was.

Lusin, on the other hand, was completely unsettled. She didn't like the roc painted in the air, or the sudden voice. She finally had enough, taking flight without her rider without hesitation. she looked at him, though, and felt a wee bit sorry. This was no time for sorry, though.

She growled, keeping a tight circle going above the group, barely flapping either sets of wings, just enough to keep to the air. Slowly, though, she rose higher and higher. Until she dove, straight for the painted view of the sky down below, moonfire beginning to build in her maw, steaming past her as she began going toward it, motives now clear. She meant to destroy it.

Reunan was startled when the eye appeared over the word her Pair-Bond had written, it was not every day that any creature snuck up on them.

She looked up from the eye to the mockery of a Roc that hung in the sky, then turned to her Rochlan, his gaze to had turned to the painting in the sky.

It was then that they all heard the words spoken, the first verbal proof of the existence of the painter.

Diell faining a smile spoke to the voice as his dragon took to the air, Rochlan followed the path of her flight, he saw her dive and blast apart the painting, he had to admit that he was impressed by the skill with which she flew.

Reunan, ruffled her wings, glad that the awful painting of the Roc was gone. Tired now of playing the game as the painter wanted, she spoke up, addressing the mysterious figure directly for the first time, "Why don't you show yourself, painter? Surely such as yourself has little to fear from such as us..."

Rochlan moved forward, towards Diell, just in case the mad painter, for he did not doubt the madness of whomever was upon the cliff with them, made a move towards harming the Elf. The Vampire, Rochlan couldn't remember his name at that moment, shuffled his feet and watched him with an odd expression on his face.

"My pair-bond is correct, surely you can show yourself to us... what harm can there be in that?" He said as he reached Diells side.
