On the cold pavement of a cellar build under the sand, behind many scrolls of colorful cloths and silks, lay hidden a black coffin. Its inhabitant had rested peacefully for several hours in the wooden box but now he seemed awake with newfound energy. Slowly, the lid of the coffin was pushed open by the inhabitant, who's red eyes now shone in the darkness. With a groan, Fabio stood out of his uncomfortable resting place and looked back down at it scornfully. He had always thought that coffins in general would be comfortable, but the stereotypes were wrong. He could almost swear on his life that sleeping on the cold ground was more comfortable as there was more space to move.

The red eyes looked around in the darkness quickly finding what their owner was looking for. A little hissing sound was heard as a wooden match came into contact with some stone and the first sign of light appeared for the day in Fabio's little shoppe. Quickly, albeit frantically in order to not burn himself, the vampire lit all of the candles around his workplace and home. Happily, he bathed in the light that did not burn him.

"What time is it?" He asked no-one in particular as he whipped around to look at the large clock on the side of one of his many working tables. 2 pm just after Midday, the busiest time of day for shoppers and their salespeople. A big grin slowly painted itself onto the young vampire's face as he could hear the excited bustle of people come from outside. It sounded like the perfect time to open the shoppe. With a light step, Fabio grabbed his nearby yellow umbrella and after climbing up the stairs to the outside, unlocked the large doors to his fabulous under-the sand tailoring attraction. In doing so, several of his neighbors, all working peasants like him, greeted him with smiles.

It was going to be a beautiful day to hide from the sun, again.

The hot sun was beating down on the city and when Astian wasn't in the shadows he could feel it's heat on his back. He was doing his best to stay in the shadows of the buildings to remain undetected. Most people got suspicious seeing a fox like him wandering around town since they weren't exactly common.

Astian was currently in his fox form so that no one would know who he really was and it was easier for him to sneak around. He needed those things because he was going around looting things, mostly from shops. He was low on rent. Astian would love it if he could sell his flowers but most people didn't want them. They tended to wither and die in the dessert heat. They weren't meant for the type of environment that they we're in.

As he rounded a corner he noticed that another shop was opening. It seemed kind of late in the day for it to be opening buy he wasn't one to judge. He waited just out of sight as someone was walking towards it and then followed quietly behind them as they opened the door. Once inside he broke away and began to look around for anything of value.

Shortly after opening shop, much to Fabio's surprise and pleasure, a male customer walked right in. The vampire smiled welcomingly as he greeted him, not noticing the creature that slipped in right after him. The gentleman seemed to want to order clothes for his late wife, who despite sick, he still cherished. It was unfortunate. A man of riches who had it all but the health of his one true love. The sentiment made Fabio prompt the man towards a cloth of red, with stunning golden laced roses. "It is beautiful, and I'm certain it would compliment your wife's strength." He told the customer with a sad smile. The gentleman returned the smile and nodded. "If you deliver a sheet with her measurements to me by tomorrow, I can try having it done in three days." Words of thanks were exchanged, and the vampire sighed before looking back down at the suggested material. It was an expensive Elven cloth which one of his friends had brought back from an exploring adventure.

Yet another sad smile took over the vampire's face as he ran his fingers through the glorious cloth. A cluttering noise however pricked Fabio's attention. A curious glint flashed through his red eyes as he looked around. "Kitty? Is it you again?" He asked, assuming it was that black cat that always seemed to stop by during this hour. He sighed. "I told you many times, I don't have food for you." Fabio continued talking as he looked around for the familiar feline. Usually she would've showed up by now, or he would've at least heard mewing. At the lack of either of those factors, the diseased sol'tera could feel his hairs stand on end. There was something else in his shop with him...

"Show yourself creature! Or, or face my wwrath!" The vampire stuttered out, grabbing the nearby umbrella with a shaking hand. Whatever it was, no matter how nervous or scared he was, Fabio would protect his shoppe.

The fox had wandered around the shop but he hadn't yet found anything that he would know to be valuable. He didn't really know how much the fabric was worth. He also didn't think he could get far trying to carry a large cluster of fabric in his mouth. The owner would spot him without a doubt.

Instead, Astian was looking for something smaller and less noticeable. He was hoping that he could find a coin purse and had been making his way around the back of the shop. Trying to find where the owner might of set one down.

Astian didn't even notice when the customer had left but he heard the vampire shout at him. He didn't know if he had been seen but he was panicking. He heart was racing and he slipped as he darted forward trying to find a place to hide. He fell hard on the floor making a audible thud. As quickly as he could he got up and attempted to hide in the fabric.

An audible thud was heard and Fabio's eyes began searching for the direction from which the sound came from. He was indeed shaking, but now that he had an umbrella in his hand, he was certain that he could at least put up a good fight before his shop was lost. He knew how to swing his umbrella, and if all else failed, he could use one of the matchsticks in the store to burn the cloth, himself and the beast, and thus die a glorious death.

As he walked past one of the many tables in his shoppe, the tailor finally saw where the intruder was. Shaking, Fabio approached a blue cloth, behind which hid his potential endgame. With one swift movement, he moved the cloth aside and pointed the umbrella at the creature on the other side. When his red eyes met what had hid from him, however, every opinion of a monster escaped his mind and the shivers of his body quieted. A fox. He crouched down where he stood, surprise and awe painting itself all over his face. He had never really seen one before.

"Hello."

He greeted it the way he would treat the cat that walked in normally. He may have never seen a fox before, but he definitely wasn't going to treat it as an everyday occurrence. Foxes were rare in Mau.

"Are you lost?"

Astian had backed him in a corner and could only hope that he wouldn't be found. He could hear the vampire walking around the shop looking for him. All he could do was try to hid deeper in the cloth but it was no use.

The vampire removed the cloth that concealed the druid. His bright red eyes staring into Astian's own green eyes. At first the man had held the fox at umbrella point until he had seen what he was but Astian was still terrified. It was never good to be caught in the act and he had no idea what to do. As far as the vampire knew the fox was just a normal fox. If he spoke he didn't know how the vampire would do.

Astian simply backed up further from the vampire and looked around him trying to find a good escape. After a moment he took a step forward and dashed pasted the vampire hoping to make an escape. As he attempted to make his escape he ran to the closed door and looked at it at in horror. He didn't know if he could open it in his current form but it wouldn't matter because in that moment it swung open as another customer came in.

The door slammed into his side and he slide back a few feet. He wasn't hurt to bad but he had the breath knocked out of him and he accidentally slipped out of his fox form.

Fabio wanted to reach out to the animal, as he had never quite seen one before quite like that, but he restrained himself as he saw the fox back up even further. A small smile rose upon the vampire's face as he was certain that there was no way the animal could back anymore into that wall than that.

"I won't hurt you."

He tried to say, but the fox had dashed away from him before he could finish his sentence. It was a fast little critter, that one. Fabio followed after it, without trying to catch it. In fact, he would've opened the door for it when it tried to go out, he could understand why any creature would want to run away...he was sick, after all. The male paused for a second, a couple of darker thoughts of his situation passing through his mind. Fortunately he didn't have too much time to dwell on them as the door to his shoppe was rammed open by a customer, hitting the fox next to it.

With a concerned look on his face, the handsome vampire greeted the customer, looking down at the fox. He had to pause halfway through his greeting however as his eyes saw the fox transform??? Into a boy ??? Fabio met the customer's eyes and they seemed to hold a similar confusion to his own. "Perhaps I should come back another time?" They inquired, earning a sad smile and nod from the male. "I will await you eagerly."

The moment that the customer was out of the door, Fabio turned to look at his surprising visitor on the ground and knelt down next to him. Carefully, he ran his cold, tan hand over the clothed boy and smiled at him concernedly. "Are you alright cutie? Any bruises? That must've hurt..." He asked as he helped his guest up. "I can make a mean bandage if you're bleeding?" He offered as he ripped a piece of cloth from the many around his shoppe. "What brings you to my tailoring house anyways? Eh foxy?" He inquired with a little smile.
